General Tire introduces GRABBER X3 with smooth red sidewall marking

General Tire is continuing its product offensive and is introducing the long-awaited Grabber X3 for the first time with smooth red sidewall marking (Smooth Red Letter, SRL) to meet high demand.

The Grabber X3 is a tyre for muddy terrain that performs well both on and off-road, although in line with General Tire’s off-road DNA, it mainly emphasizes off-road use (80/20). To meet the high specification requirements, the development engineers at General Tire created three groundbreaking technologies: ‘Extreme Mud (X Mud)’ for maximum traction in deep mud, ‘Extreme Dirt (X Dirt)’ for sand and gravel roads, and ‘Extreme Rock (X Rock)’ to cope with rocky terrain. These three technologies rely on a tread pattern with deep grooves, channels to evacuate mud, and angled edges, which ensure a high degree of grip on sand, mud, and gravel.

The unique design of this tyre includes chamfered block edges with wider tread grooves and narrower grooves in the center of the tread, allowing stones to be expelled more quickly to prevent them from getting stuck on gravel roads.

When driving over rocks, the grip edges with different angles on the tread guarantee maximum grip in every direction. A series of deflection ribs protects the sidewalls against damage from stones and gravel, making the tyre extremely robust on rough terrain.

The development engineers at General Tire used Duragen™ technology for the construction of the Grabber X3, and the tyre also has a three-layer structure that increases strength and puncture resistance. Compared to the previous version of this tyre, performance on sand and loose gravel has improved by 5%, while performance on rocky terrain has improved by 10%. The Grabber X3 also scores better than its predecessor in on-road use, particularly in terms of wet grip. In addition, rolling noise remains very limited compared to other tyres for muddy terrain, and it boasts leading on-road performance.

The long-awaited Grabber X3 with Smooth Red Letter marking (SRL) will be available in a growing range consisting of 10 different sizes for 15 to 20-inch rims. All sizes of this off-road specialist are approved for speeds up to 160 km/h. The total X3 range comprises 37 articles.
